Sexual health services for young people

You’ll find lots of information on our SWISH (So What Is Sexual Health) website. It includes a section for young people which includes information about local services, sex and contraception information, an online Agony Aunt, a sexual health game and much more.

The Young People's Centre at 69 Ship Street, Brighton (01273 887886) provides a sexual health drop-in service for young people aged 13 to 25 between 3.30pm and 5.50pm on Mondays. The service provides contraception (including emergency contraception), advice and support.

The Young People's Centre has other drop-in sessions throughout the week that offer free pregnancy testing, Chlamydia screening, free condoms, information, advice and support, and access to a free counselling service.

The Youth Advice Centre at 65 Blatchington Road, Hove, offers a similar service. Call 01273 889292 for details.

You can also get advice by phoning Sexwise on 0800 282930 between 7am and midnight. Sexwise is a free, confidential advice line for young people under 18 on anything to do with sex, relationships, contraception and  services available to you locally.

Chlamydia screening

If you’re under 25 and sexually active, take advantage of our free chlamydia screening service.

Alternatively visit the Tune up download website for details on how you can receive free music downloads if you take a chlamydia test.

You can also order a self-testing kit by calling the screening programme on 01273 690985. It’s quick, easy and confidential.
